Toff’s – Muswell Hill
Toff’s is what Muswell Hill is famous for. They serve the kind of fish and chips which I crave unbelievably when I’m abroad as nowhere in the world does fish and chips like Britain does. I love the combination of newspaper, vinegar and salt, it’s just not something you can get anywhere else. As they say on their website, food critic Egon Ronay attributed fish and chips as the UK’s main contribution to world cuisine, yup I’m proud of that! Toff’s has been around since 1968 serving excellent quality fish and chips. The interior is lovely, old and unchanged and just so authentically British. The desert menu is what American’s come to Britain for, sticky toffee pudding, spotted dick, treacle pudding all good things that Heinz sell in tins, I can only imagine how good Toffs’ version must be!
