It’s a pub although it doesn’t look like one. The scattered Louis XIV style furniture and chandeliers are more reminiscent of a posh French restaurant, but don’t let this put you off as it’s really very relaxed and the food is great. I like to come here occasionally for Sunday Lunch. Today I feel like taking the week off and by week I mean life, it’s that kind of Sunday. Some guy has walked in and is sitting with two women way more attractive than he is, they look Russian, probably hookers. They only stay for one drink. Definitely hookers. I’m snacking on Potted smoked mackerel & Drambuie pate on toasted sourdough….so good, their menu is extensive and imaginative, just look it up. Kensal rise is an area on the up although it is inhabited by 2.4 children successful arty types but there are a couple of great furniture stores up the road, which for those of you with proper jobs are very affordable.
