If it wasn’t for the location this is the sort of place where old ladies would go. It’s traditional and unpretentious, spacious and it serves scones. Despite being in Spitalfields, it feels remarkably untrendy. Located on a busy thoroughfare to Brick Lane or Spitalfields Market, it doesn’t attract any particular crowd just a lot of anybody and everybody. I like it despite the fact that the freak dressers would never stop here yet it’s still too distracting to come to work. Basically I like to meet people here when I can’t be bothered to walk as far as Brick Lane and I AVOID CHAINS AT ALL COSTS. It feels old school with its Victorian façade and heavy wooden tables, god I say that a lot “Victorian with heavy wooden tables blahblahblah” I don’t actually even know if it is Victorian it’s just what I say when I mean old.
