Marine Ices

I came to love Marine Ices due to a brief spell of unemployment one summer when me and Drina would get ice cream then wander around Camden at a want of something better or more productive to do, it was a good summer*. You will likely find a queue of people outside this retro Italian ice cream shop due to the delicious selection of homemade ice cream and good cheap authentic (Italian) food, with everything from spaghetti and meatballs to pizza and garlicky bruschetta. It has a spacious interior which is invariably packed and noisy due to its popularity with families and group get-togethers. It’s a family run business since 1928 with little attention to interior design – a bit like a food court in a downscale shopping centre but with walls lined with family photographs and pictures of random celebrities.
* actually we still do this most Wednesday’s.
