La Bouchée

I love a good French restaurant and La Bouchée is certainly that. Small, dark and narrow with well worn floor boards, the menu briskly written on blackboards and tiny tables doused in candle light, it’s the perfect romantic setting. The food is typical French bistro leaning towards the rustic side of French cuisine but just the fact that they can make a simple mushroom risotto taste so damn good pleases me no end. La Bouchée feels like something you’d find up a back street of Grasse. You know you’re in a good French restaurant when you see lots of French people dining there, although South Kensington is a home away from home to Parisians. I still take this as a good sign, as the French don’t suffer bad food gladly.
