It’s quite possible that the best Mexican restaurant in the world is located on Westbourne Park Road, ok perhaps this is a bit of an exaggeration but it is one of the original Mexican restaurants in London and it’s still my favourite. Now there are many, Wahaca is great but it’s a chain and a bit faceless. Crazy Homies is tiny and has character, it’s also one of Tom Conrans restaurants. I love Mexican food, preferably Tex Mex rather than street food and over the years I’ve had my fair share. Crazy Homies serves up a contemporary spin on home-cooked Mexican food. You won’t get the usual massive plate of refried greasy beans and dried out rice like you do at El Cholo or El Chavo or El whatever. Here you can expect something more culinary like the Goat’s Cheese, Spinach, Potato or Rare Sirloin Steak, Chipotle Salsa, Guacamole Enchiladas. It’s decked out in a ‘Dia Muertos’ style – all skulls, candles and Mexican blankets and only has a few tables which get full up pretty quick.
